Did you know that 'Whose dress is this?' is a probable interview question and the kid is expected to answer 'Mine' and not "my", "my's", "Enadhu' or "En's"!! We should check with these interviewers if they are saying 'Mr. X and I are conducting interviews' correctly and not stating 'Me & X'!!
This pattern, definitely needs some re-thinking! What are we testing here? Why are we testing the depth in a foreign language? Aren't we supposed to check only the kid's mental ability? Is this a gimmick for elimination? If a 3 year old has mastered a foreign language so much, why would it need admissions to LKG? What is left for the school to teach in Kindergarten?
Above all, what if the kid is wearing his/her sister's or cousin's dress?
On a lighter note, here is another interview saga
The interviewer had to rate the candidate on 'responsiveness to command?!' (Is this some interview for military camp? or a dog-training session?) So, threw a tennis-ball across the room and asked the tiny-tot to bring it back to her!
The candidate comfortably sitting in her chair, amidst some dolls, snapped back, almost spontaneously, with an air of sarcasm: "Nee dhane thooki potte? Neeye eduthuko!"
Needless to say, she got her admission in this school! She must have scored a 100/10 for 'responsiveness' and another 100/10 for 'command' though not together.

kids nowadays are just toooo much for us to handle.

Honestly , I'm against all these tests to admit the kids into the school. The kid has so many years left for him to get moulded into a human being.Its the duty of the teachers and parents to do it in school and house.But the moment the kid starts talking people start teaching him all the alphabets,numerals,states,capitals and make him say that in front of every guest who visits their house.Its totally insane.Phunny people.

agree perfectly with you..and going deeper, it is really funny that few schools take only top scorers or 11th and boast of state ranks.. Isn't training a mediocre the challenge?

You get surprised at this? How'd you react if I talked about 40K donation amount in a school! or about standing in the queue over-night to get the application!
Tough interviews ....... well why not ....... IT Firms have tough interviews for bringing in good talent ....... If we approve of that practice and yearn to be part of a concern which has a tough interview process, why do we sneer at a school which does the same thing.
AHA ...... I know what you are thinking .......
Firms/Companies are capital oriented and their intention is better product/better service/higher sales/better profits/blah blah blah .... So, it makes sense for them to have these high demands on people. But, a school is a temple of learning. It is an entity which aims at making the society a better place to live in. Their aim is to make "matured educated human beings" out of "kids".
Isn't that what you are thinking?
Think about it again. What is the motive of schools today ..... More fees ... More money for the promoters .... Better year-end results .... More doctors and engineers passing out ... (forget the true interest of the child) .... which all culminates towards "More fees" again ....
If schools are no different from a profit oriented corporate entity, why not adopt the same recruitment policy?
